Busy times here at the Educated Burgher, so here are a few quick shots of the train trip we took to London a couple weeks ago. More London posts to follow!
Such a civilized way to travel, isn't it? That yellow out there is canola (aka, rape), which is grown through large stretches of northern Europe. It flowers in May, turning huge swaths of the countryside a brilliant, very unnatural-looking yellow.
The East Coast trains also skirt the North Sea between Edinburgh and Newcastle, which makes for some spectacular views. Unfortunately, ours was a morning ride, so the low sun prohibited any pictures. Alas!
